About 60% of readers come from America. The balance is equally divided between Europe and Asia. I’m pleased with this result. I try to write about issues with global consequences. At one time or another, my articles have been read in damn near every country on the globe. Much of my writing has been critical of government policy. Some of these muses have broken through governmental sensors. (A hello to those readers in Iran, North Korea and China.)
Many of you have come to this blog as a result of reading something of mine in one of the E-magazines that I submit my material to. On average, I get about 10 reads in the magazines for every one that I get on this blog. Thank you to all the E-mags that have supported me.
I want to specifically thank Tyler Durden and the folks at Zero Hedge. ZH was the first E-mag to give me a break. That was back in July of 2009. Without the visibility provided by ZH, I would not have kept this up.
I also want to thank all of the readers, specifically those who have given me feedback through comments. I read every comment (both here and in the E-mags). Although I have a pretty thick skin, some of your words have gotten to me.
I end my missives with a picture that ties things together. Finding the images often takes more time than the writing. There are many examples where I found an appealing image and then built a story around it. I often use graffiti. There are over 10 million graffiti images online. If you look, you will find one that matches with just about anything. (The images at the close of this piece prove my point.)
Thanks to all!
Bruce Krasting

Congratulations! Wow, one million!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteI was reading you BEFORE you were on ZH Bruce. I'll be damned if I can remember how I found you though. It was some link on another site, but it wasn't ZH. I don't like your politics (as you know I'm Democrat). But when it comes to issues related to foreign exchange and currency, I can't think of anyone (at the moment) better. I especially enjoyed you raking Hildebrand at the SNB over the coals, and certainly there is no one who deserves it more (other than Republican "W" Bush who we are still suffering for 'cuz you dumb people with the elephant logo).
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep posting for a long time. Solid information at a non-premium price. IT IS APPRECIATED (even from a DAMNED Republican).
Oh, I forgot to ask, what is the connection between Burger King franchise and this blog???

The illustrations take me back more than a quarter century, when my path became intertwined with that of a reclusive Philadelphia vandal/graffiti artist using the tag 'estro.' His greatest works were painted over ages before the digital camera and the Internet, although some photos survive in the Spraycan Art/Subway Art series. As I recently explained to a wide-eyed connaisseur of such things--a modern primitive/cartoonist/bike messenger who hadn't been born yet--the name is short for 'Kid Destroy,' a nod to the yin and yang of the enterprise. He exists mainly (and I fear, only) as legend, and the kids are awestruck that anyone still knows his real name and the block he grew up on. You do the best with the canvass you have, and my hat's off to you for what you've done with yours.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Bruce! I found you via ZH, and quote you once in a while at outheretoo.blogspot.com (a Canadian view of the world). Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteBruce, yours is a go-to site for me each morning and has been for some time. I always appreciate reading your point of view. thanks you!
ReplyDeleteBruce, I've only been reading your blog for about 6 months, but boy have I enjoyed it. I spend a lot of time reading ZH, but it is nice to hear your perspective as well as read your writing style. Just wanted to say thanks and keep truckin!
ReplyDeleteYou are a very articulate guy and deserve the audience. Thanks for your efforts and keep it coming. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteBtw,not being a killjoy, just by point of fact: page views and readers are two different things. One reader might click 5 pages on the blog while visiting. You rock.
