Well, I just watched the video on the msnbc website and was disappointed they booted you off for the President. For any viewer that does not know this story they still don't know it. I think they should ask you back sooner rather than later. It was bad luck but maybe it will open more doors in the future.
Yes that was a complete bust. The plan was for a 6 minute segment, a break, and then another 6 minutes. The Prez came on exactly as I was standing there. We were lucky? to get the 90 seconds.
I was looking forward to this. I had some "zingers" that I hoped would get DR into a rant.
Oh well. The risk of being involved with spot news.
This story is not over. NPR picked it up. Mhari Saito put a segment together. This will be out on Monday in different areas. It is not clear if it will be a national story. It depends again on what other stories are out there.
I worked on Wall Street for twenty five years. This blog is my take on the financial issues of the day.
I was an FX trader during the early days of the 'snake' and the EMS. Derivatives on currencies were new then. I was part of that. That was with Citi. Later I worked for Drexel and got to understand a bit about balance sheet structure and corporate bonds from Mike Milken. I was involved with a Macro hedge fund later. That worked out all right, but it is not an easy road. There was one tough week and I thought, "Maybe I should do something else for a year or two." That was fifteen years ago.
I love the markets. How they weave together. For twenty five years I woke up thinking, "What am I going to do today to make some money in the market". I don't do that any longer. But I miss it.
Hi Bruce~I have become Ms. Minimal and have no Cable. But good luck, and post it on YouTube!

I know Wendy. She's a great person and has worked hard for everything she's got. Hope everything works out for her.
ReplyDeleteThis is what's great about a blog--someone writes you a comment and now they (and you) are in show business. . .
ReplyDeleteBreak a leg!
If interested, video of the (rather short) segment can be seen here.
